This project was conceived and designed as part of the "AROUND THE SUN" trilogy - a continuously looping 3 part video/sound installation. The videos are mounted on the wall in the manner of museum paintings with 5.1 surround sound. There is also a linear film festival edit of RIVER (above)
ARTIST STATEMENT
Nothing happens, yet everything happens. Snow blankets a beautiful mountain landscape in winter, the river swells in spring, the grass grows in the summer, and the leaves turn colour in the fall. The earth orbits the sun and another year goes by. Downstream, the river flows through a busy city. People go about their routine; commuting, working, gathering, talking, arguing and laughing. Another day goes by. Everything happens yet nothing happens. Time flows by.
