I am creating a variety of contemplative shrines that reflect on relationships between contemporary culture, the natural world and the the natural cycles of time; day and night, summer and winter, life and death.

 
Aesthetically, this work encompasses ideas from both high and low culture; museum displays, hunting trophies, movies, Latin American roadside memorials, Asian temples, American kitsch, Italian Baroque, and historical landscape painting.  (see images below).

THE SEASONS, 2007 - 2010

 A group of four dioramas that are constructed like curiosity cabinets or museum displays.  They contain video, electronics, and moving parts.

KING  & QUEEN, 2006 - 2009

Embedded video animations are integrated into elaborate structures that appear to be paintings but reveal projections as well as assemblages on and below the surface.
