During the winter months, crows gather in large numbers in the city of Berlin, forming a veil of nature over the cityscape. They arrive from all the surrounding countries and from places as far away as Russia. This artwork is an analogy of the city itself and tied to the ideals of 19th century German Romanticism. The crows create an ominous presence and at the same time, they represent our soaring imaginings. They are both nightmare and dream.
