Video Documentation of Shrines Art Projects
Artist Statement
The shrines are a series of multimedia projects that take different forms including dioramas, constructions, and installations. They are contemplative works that reflect on relationships between contemporary culture, the natural world, and cycles of time – day and night, summer and winter, life and death.Aesthetically, this work encompasses wide ranging ideas from both high and low culture: museum displays, cemeteries, hunting trophies, television, medieval artifacts, Asian temples and Americana kitsch.
